Washington Supervisors approve hiring of more ambulance service employees

The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved the hiring of five more employees of the Washington County Ambulance Services Department in a meeting held Tuesday, April 28.
Department Director Jeremy Peck proposed hiring Dixie Young as a part-time office assistant at $19.50 an hour. The supervisors acknowledged the recommendation unanimously with Supervisor Richard Young abstaining.
In addition, Peck also recommended the hiring of field supervisors Aaron Olson, Bret Carlson, Connor Tarvin, and Joshua Mohror at $26.85 an hour. All recommendations were acknowledged.
Other Business
In other business, the supervisors:
*Held a public hearing and then approved acknowledgment of an animal confinement feeding operation operated by Rob Brenneman at 2012 155th Street, Washington;
*Passed resolutions related to public highway easements from Dale and Linda Simon and Dennis and Rene Arps;
*Established Thursday, May 21 at 9 a.m. as the date for a bid letting for a road grading and surfacing project on Spruce Avenue from 135th to Riverside Road;
*Acknowledged quarterly reports from the County Auditor, Sheriff, Department of General Assistance and Department of Veterans Affairs;
*Acknowledged a personnel change request in the Auditor's office to hire Tammy Stewart as a full-time employee effective May 4 at a rate of $21.03 an hour;
* Acknowledged a personnel change request from the County Engineer's office to hire Kelly Farrier as a full-time employee effective May 18 at a rate of $24.44 an hour;
*Heard a coronavirus update.
