The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed the transfer of ownership of an ambulance from the City of Riverside to the Washington County Ambulance Service when it met in regular session Tuesday.
Supervisor Jack Seward Jr. said the Riverside City Council has passed a resolution indicating the city is open to making the transfer. Riverside is now contracting with Washington County to provide ambulance service and no longer needs its ambulance.
In its resolution, it states that the Washington County Ambulance Service is in need of an additional ambulance to better serve the Riverside community. The Riverside resolution calls for a transfer of the ambulance to the county which 'will accept the transfer of the Riverside ambulance and will continue to maintain it, insure it, and use it to serve the emergency needs of the City of Riverside.”
The supervisors took no action on the matter.
County Engineer
On a recommendation from County Engineer Jacob Thorius, the board passed a resolution related to an agreement for the Living Roadway Trust Fund Grant to enable the county to receive a grant of $10,000 to help offset the cost of purchasing a skid loader for the county engineer's department. They also approved purchase of an excavator at a cost of $307,696 from budgeted funds.
