Aug. 16, 2022 11:40 am
WASHINGTON — Police executed a search warrant at an apartment on South Avenue C around 1 p.m., Monday, which led to the arrest of Washington resident Caitlin Bohms.
The 36-year-old woman was charged with Class B felony of Distributing Controlled Substance to minors and a Simple Misdemeanor charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Distributing Controlled Substances to minors is punishable by up to 25 years in prison and carries a mandatory minimum 5-year sentence, according to law enforcement officials.
Police said they received information that Bohms had supplied marijuana to a 10-year-old and 12-year-old at the apartment on Aug. 10, 2022.
“Bohms was present during the search and admitted to possessing the items seized from her apartment and to supplying the two minors with marijuana,” a news release from the Washington Police Department said.
Bohms was transported to the Washington County Jail where she is being held awaiting an initial appearance.
Police said the Iowa Department of Human Services and the Washington County Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation.
