WASHINGTON - Another individual at the Lincoln Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19.
On Thursday afternoon, Superintendent Willie Stone sent a letter dated Sept. 9 to district families informing them that someone at Lincoln Elementary School had tested positive for COVID-19.
Stone did not identify the person, nor did he specify whether that person was a student or staff member.
In his letter, Stone said that the district is working closely with local public health officials to assist with contact tracing.
'Individuals who have been identified as having ‘close contact' (as defined by local and state public health officials) with the individual who tested positive have already received a separate email communication or phone call regarding necessary procedures and next steps,” Stone wrote in his letter.
This positive case comes shortly after one individual tested positive at Lincoln last Friday.
As of Sept. 4, the school was at 3.33 percent districtwide absenteeism with one positive test, 22 in quarantine due to exposure.
Stone said upon the advice of local public health offices, they ask parents and guardians to continue to monitor their student's health for symptoms associated with COVID-19 including: fever and chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea or other symptoms outlined by the Center for Disease Control.
