A number of Fairfield residents went without water Thursday as the Fairfield Water Department repaired three broken water mains on Fillmore, West Tyler and West Adams avenues. Jared Goodrich of the water department operates a backhoe Thursday afternoon at 606 W. Adams Ave.,with assistance from Richard Taylor to repair a break. Today, the water department is repairing a fourth break on Jefferson Avenue between Sixth and Seventh streets. Department superintendent Carl Chandler said the hot dry weather has led to 52 breaks since the beginning of July.
