Waterworks Park beach open; water's fine
Reservoir No. 1 at Waterworks Park is open to swimmers.
Frank Wintroub of Fairfield's reservoir committee said the water is tested weekly for impurities and chemicals at a state laboratory.
The lake consistently tests very high in water quality and is one of the cleanest in the state, he said.
The beach ropes are in place for the summer, and sand will be added to the beach once it dries, he said.
