Henry County Health Center has announced that Jessie Anderson, ARNP, began providing medical services at the Wayland Community Clinic on Thursday, Jan. 19. She also joins Tess Judge-Ellis in seeing patients at the Winfield Community Clinic.
Anderson graduated from the University of Iowa College of Nursing with both her bachelor?s degree and masters of science degree in nursing.
She will provide acute care, preventive care and health education for area residents. Anderson also has interest in pediatric health care, cardiovascular and women?s health.
According to a press release, Anderson has been interested in working in healthcare from a very young age.
?I have always known since I was a little girl that I wanted to work in healthcare. I enjoy the science of health and illness, but what draws me to healthcare is the art of the human experience. How does the individual?s life fabric influence the perception of health and illness? I am blessed to be allowed into each patient?s life and learn about their life stories that make them unique. Healthcare allows for this exceptional experience like no other profession does,? Anderson said.
She stressed that the family is important to understand and care for in order to optimize the individual health care experience.
Growing up on a farm near Center Point, Anderson and her husband, Sean, are excited to be back in the area. They have relocated to the Wayland area due to her new position and Sean being in pharmacy school at the University of Iowa.
She looks forward to making this home and is excited for the opportunity to work with area residents.
?I was attracted to the Wayland and Winfield communities because of the unique opportunity rural healthcare allows for the provider and the patients to be more personally involved with the health care experience,? stated Anderson. ?I hope to provide the individuals of the Wayland and Winfield communities with as much guidance as each person requests so that they may have the most active role in their health.?
She continued, ?I believe in allowing each individual the autonomy to direct their health care experience, and I hope to provide the additional information so that they may make informed decisions about their healthcare management.?
