Wayland Area Antique Tractor Club takes trip
On Thursday, Aug. 4, the Wayland Area Antique Tractor Club left Wayland at 7:30 a.m. bound for Hamilton, Ill., and the Western Illinois Threshermen Reunion. Sixteen tractors left Wayland with plans for others to join the caravan at Joe Freyenberger?s corner, Trenton and New London. On Thursday, Aug. 4, the Wayland Area Antique Tractor Club left Wayland at 7:30 a.m. bound for Hamilton, Ill., and the Western Illinois Threshermen Reunion. Sixteen tractors left Wayland with plans for others to join the caravan at Joe Freyenberger?s corner, Trenton and New London. The caravan stopped in New London for a break, at West Point for a lunch provided by the Lee County Pork Producers, a midafternoon break at Linger Longer Park in Montrose and expected to be at the show site by 3:45 p.m. Wayland Police Chief Ron Roth assited with traffic control as the group left Wayland for this much anticipated annual event.
