Wayland man accused of domestic assault

WAYLAND - A Wayland man was charged with domestic abuse assault and harassment following a physical altercation early Saturday morning.

Andrew Boone, 35, of Wayland turned himself into the Henry County Sheriff's Office after receiving notice that he had been charged with the aggravated misdemeanors following the incident, Henry County Sheriff Rich McNamee said.

The sheriff's office received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 2:32 a.m. for a disturbance at the 300 block of West Front Street in Wayland. An investigation found Boone had engaged in a physical confrontation and committed assault. McNamee confirmed the person Boone assaulted was someone Boone knew. Boone left the area before law enforcement arrived.

McNamee said the office was preparing to request a warrant for Boone's arrest. Boone later called into the office and turned himself in.
