Wayland man caught driving without valid license

A Wayland man was charged for driving without a valid license following a traffic stop over the weekend.

Wayne Beebe, of Wayland, was pulled over for driving down 255th St. with no license plates on the night of Saturday, Feb. 23.

According to polic reports, Beebe was driving with a suspended driver's license with four withdrawals in effect and three active warrants in Fairfield. He was charged with the simple misdemeanor of driving with a suspended license.

With him during his arrest were two female passengers, neither of whom possessed a valid license; after Beebe was taken into custody by Henry County officers, rides home were arranged for them.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
