WCHC adds mental health-focused staff member

WASHINGTON — Washington County Hospital and Clinics is pleased to announce that Lisbeth Whaley, DNP, ARNP, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC has joined its medical team. Lisbeth will begin to see patients on Nov. 13, 2023.
“We are pleased to welcome Lisbeth to our medical staff,” said Todd Patterson, Chief Executive Officer at WCHC. “Lisbeth is certified in mental health and will primarily work with patients dealing with mental, behavioral, and/or emotional disorders. With the prevalence of mood disorders and mental health issues today, Lisbeth’s expertise will help to provide a much-needed service in our community.”
Lisbeth received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Iowa. She has more than 10 years of experience as a registered nurse and is a Certified Emergency Nurse. Lisbeth also has more than 18 years of military experience; eight years as an Emergency Trauma Nurse for the United States Air Force Reserve. Her duties included supervising the Medical-Surgical Flight, directing and instructing the Tactical Combat Casualty Care course for over 1,100 airmen, serving as the Training Center Faculty for the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support course, and delivering high-quality care.
Lisbeth is a dedicated Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is committed to delivering effective and evidence-based health care services. Lisbeth will promote well-being through prevention, education, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health disorders across the life-span. She will practice at WCHC Medical Clinic, located at 444 East Polk Street in Washington. Patients can call (319) 653-7291 to schedule an appointment.
