WCHC celebrates first year of Louisa County coverage
Mar. 3, 2022 9:15 am
Washington County Hospital and Clinics (WCHC) is celebrating a successful first year of providing primary care services to the residents of Columbus Junction. WCHC assumed ownership of the Columbus Junction Clinic on March 1, 2021. After closing the clinic for one week to prepare the site per WCHC standards, the building opened to patient care on March 8.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate our one-year anniversary of serving the residents of Columbus Junction and the surrounding communities in Louisa County,” said WCHC CEO Todd Paterson. “Offering local primary care services improves a patient’s connection to our local hospital and the additional services we can provide.”
At this one-year mark, WCHC and the Columbus Junction Clinic celebrate several accomplishments, including:
- Serving more than 3,500 patient visits
- Increasing provider coverage to include 3 providers — Danielle Woepking, ARNP; Debbie Gibbs, MD; and James Schlichtmann, MD
- Expanding and adhering to consistent hours of operation: Monday — Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Reducing communication barriers with the addition of bilingual staff in scheduling
WCHC will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Columbus Junction Clinic with an open house on Wednesday, March 16, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Community members are invited to join WCHC employees to mingle, pick up a free gift, and enjoy complimentary refreshments.
The WCHC Columbus Junction Clinic provides general health care needs for people of all ages including treatment of common illnesses, physical examinations, preventive care, disease education, routine lab tests, complete medical histories, adult care, pediatric care, and family planning, along with many other services provided by the primary care providers of WCHC.
