KALONA — Washington County Hospital and Clinics announced that it had hired Meagan Squiers as a primary care provider for its recently purchased clinic in Kalona, which was previously operated by Mercy.
The new employee has a nursing degree from the University of Iowa and has served as an owner-provider at Wellman Family Practice since 2012, according to a news release from WCHC.
“With her extensive experience and commitment to patient well-being, Meagan has become a trusted health care provider in the community, specializing in providing care for patients from newborn to geriatric,” the news release said.
WCHC said the Wellman clinic closed its doors May 1, but that Squiers would “seamlessly transition” to the Kalona clinic, which will tentatively start seeing patients on May 13.
WCHC CEO Todd Patterson said Squiers’ hire was a first step as the hospital plans to add other providers in the future.
“We are excited to welcome Meagan to the WCHC family,” he said in a statement. “Her proven track record of delivering exceptional care and her deep roots in the community make her an invaluable addition to our team. We are confident that she will continue to uphold our commitment to providing high-quality health care services to the Kalona community.”
