WCHC switching to Epic EHR
Sep. 19, 2022 12:21 pm
Washington County Hospitals and Clinics received a $753,100 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture on Sept. 7. Hospital officials said the money would go toward the implementation of the new Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR).
“Epic will provide Washington County Hospitals and Clinics with a single platform EHR that will replace their existing medical records and improve their ability to communicate vital patient care information both internally and with other health care systems,” a news release from the hospital foundation said.
The Epic project is expecting to commence Nov., 2022 and finish by Nov., 2023, according to the news release.
“This is an amazing win for not only the hospital, but the entire community,” said John Woodward, major gifts development officer at WCHC. “I am so thankful for everyone who pulled together to make this outcome possible and excited to see WCHC continue to enhance its capability to care for Southeast Iowa!”
Hospital administrators did not reply to requests for further comments.
