WASHINGTON — A new primary care clinic is expected to open in Mediapolis May 5, 2025, run by Washington County Hospital and Clinics, the hospital announced Wednesday morning.
Representatives said the move would improve access to medical care in the community, citing “strong requests” from the city in Des Moines County that lies north of Burlington and east of Mt. Pleasant.
“Our goal is to bring high-quality primary care closer to where people live,” WCHC CEO Todd Patterson said in a statement. “The enthusiastic support from the Mediapolis community has been the driving force behind this clinic, and we’re eager to meet their needs with accessible and comprehensive care.”
The yet-unnamed Mediapolis location will add to a growing list of WCHC clinics, currently standing in Washington, Kalona and Columbus Junction. And a press release from the hospital said it would offer a wide variety of services, including “wellness visits, preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute care for all ages.”
WCHC is “currently finalizing plans with a provider to lead the clinic,” according to the press release, and a representative from the hospital said more information would be available at a later date.
