Weather delays Fort Madison bypass opening
The Iowa Department of Transportation is reporting that unfavorable weather conditions occurring over the last few weeks are delaying the opening of the Fort Madison bypass.
Final construction activities are presently underway; however, progress remains contingent on the weather. The bypass will not be ready to open this week. The goal remains to have the new highway open by the end of November.

The public will be provided advance notice of the scheduled opening as soon as a date and time are determined. The IDOT appreciates the public?s continued patience.
