Webster told officers he shot Frisbie

Tyler James Webster, age 33, of 2104 185th St. remains in the Jefferson County Jail today charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Buddy Lee Frisbie, age 32, also of Fairfield.

Jefferson County Law Center received a 911 call at 7:28 p.m. Saturday reporting a shooting at 2469 Marigold Blvd., near the Fairfield Wastewater Treatment Plant southeast of town.

According to documents filed with the Jefferson County Clerk of Court, Webster called 911 and stated he had just shot a man and that the subject was deceased. He also stated the handgun was in the glovebox of his pickup, a 2001 Mazda B30.

When law enforcement personnel arrived on the scene, a .45-caliber semi-automatic Sig Sauer handgun was found in the glovebox, according to court documents.

The documents also state Webster told law enforcement personnel he shot Frisbie twice in the face.

During Webster?s initial appearance Sunday, he heard the official charge filed against him ? murder, first degree (A-Felony) ? and Jefferson County Magistrate Judge Benny Waggner set bail at $2 million cash only. If Webster is released on bail, the conditions of release require he notify the clerk of court of any address change, appear at all hearings, keep his attorney advised of his whereabouts and abstain from alcohol and illegal substances.

A preliminary hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 4.

According to court documents, a state public defender will be appointed to represent Webster.
