WEDG honored for work on Washington roadway

WASHINGTON - The Washington Economic Development Group was awarded a 2020 Business and Expansion Award.

The award is for work to obtain a RISE grant to help pave about 3 miles of roadway to the Premier 1 supplies facility.

The Professional Developers of Iowa annually sponsor the Business Expansion & Retention Awards.

Premier 1 owners Stan and Jean Potratz, Ben Rothe, the Washington County Board of Supervisors, County Engineer Jacob Thorius, Washington City Administrator Brent Hinson and former WEDG Executive Director David Collins participated in the project.

The Business and Expansion Award recognized WEDG for multiple criteria that helped make this project successful.

The award will be presented March 18 during an expanded Professional Developers of Iowa Leadership Lounge.
