Welcome Home Center St. Patrick’s dinner canceled

MT. PLEASANT - The Welcome Home Center in Mt. Pleasant has canceled its St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, originally scheduled for the evening of March 17. This decision comes in the wake of snowy weather, as well as boiler issues at the Belle Center venue rendering the building uncomfortably cold. According to Center Director Angie Wilson, attempts to find a second replacement venue were unsuccessful.

Nevertheless, Japan Night is still scheduled for Saturday, March 21, from 5-8 p.m. This event will honor the history of Japanese-Americans, and celebrate their culture. According to IowaWINS, this free event includes “..hands-on activities, beautiful arts, and delicious food sampling that the whole family can enjoy.”
