WASHINGTON - The first Washington County mass vaccination clinic went smoothly, and Public Health is looking forward to the next one.
Public Health Director Danielle Pettit-Majewski said the day went efficiently. On the day, 336 people were vaccinated at the clinic Thursday at the YMCA in Wellman.
'We were so, so please,” she said. 'Everyone had nothing but good comments.”
Pettit-Majewski thanked the YMCA, volunteers, Washington County Sheriff's Department, the nursing students and hospital staff,
'This is a community effort,” she said.
For the next clinic, Pettit-Majewski said they already have a few logistics to change and improve on. She said there are always new ways to be more efficient.
She said they are sending out after-action reports to the volunteers to get feedback and advice on what to improve.
The next clinic is Monday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Washington YMCA.
Starting Tuesday, seniors age 65 or older can call 319-653-3030 between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to schedule an appointment.
Appointments will not be taken before that time. If you don't get through, call back. Voicemails will not be returned and appointments cannot be scheduled via email or Facebook.
Pettit-Majewski said this time they will have a call center set up at the new communications center.
