William ?Bill? Gale McElwee, 80, of Mount Pleasant, died due to Alzheimer?s disease-related complications Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Mike Hess officiating. Burial will be in Lambirth Cemetery, rural Lockridge.

William ?Bill? Gale McElwee, 80, of Mount Pleasant, died due to Alzheimer?s disease-related complications Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Arbor Court in Mount Pleasant.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Mike Hess officiating. Burial will be in Lambirth Cemetery, rural Lockridge.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present 6-8 p.m.
Memorials may be directed to Calvary Baptist Church or Alzheimer?s Research.

Mr. McElwee was born Dec. 28, 1931, in rural Henry County, the son of Thomas and Mary Barton McElwee. He married Joyce Elizabeth Hourihan June 26, 1955, in Salem.
Survivors include his wife; three sons: Fred and wife Ann Marie of Lockridge, Mark of Mount Pleasant and Scott and wife Tammy of Cedar, Minn.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister: Sandra Swails of Woodbridge, Va.
