Wilmer Fred Henry Schewe, 86, of rural Douds, died after a brief illness at 9:11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fairfield, with the Rev. Mark Brase officiating. Burial, with military honors by American Legion John Hyson Reneker Post No. 494, will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Douds.

Wilmer Fred Henry Schewe, 86, of rural Douds, died after a brief illness at 9:11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fairfield, with the Rev. Mark Brase officiating. Burial, with military honors by American Legion John Hyson Reneker Post No. 494, will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Douds.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the family present from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials to Douds Fire Department and First Responders or Lutheran Hour may be left at the church or may be mailed to P.O. Box 163, Douds 52551.
Mr. Schewe was born July 5, 1924, in Spanish Lake, Mo., the son of William and Ida Meyer Schewe. He married Fae Sadler May 5, 1950, in St. Louis, Mo.
