The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities reports very strong winds are expected across the region this evening.
An intense low pressure system will lift across eastern Iowa this afternoon. As the low moves into southern Wisconsin, winds will rapidly increase to 25 to 30 mph with gusting to 45 to 50 mph during the evening.
This wind also may combine with some snow showers to create localized hazardous winter weather conditions.
Driving in high profile vehicles will be difficult, particularly on north-south roads and loose objects will blow around.
Any fresh snowfall also will be blown by the wind and may become a localized travel hazard.
Use extra caution when traveling or working outdoors.
