Winfield Avenue project
Work is progressing on the Winfield Avenue reconstruction project. Existing concrete is nearly removed from the road and new pavement has been poured from Iris Street west to businesses located on Winfield. On Thursday, the contractor was making preparations to pave Winfield to Grand Avenue.

Work is progressing on the Winfield Avenue reconstruction project. Existing concrete is nearly removed from the road and new pavement has been poured from Iris Street west to businesses located on Winfield. On Thursday, the contractor was making preparations to pave Winfield to Grand Avenue.
After that, one stretch of paving will remain to be done ? that being from Winfield (or 220th Street) to the U.S. Highway 218 overpass.
The reconstruction is a cost-share project with the city. The county is picking up 60 percent of the cost.
Winfield Avenue reconstruction within the city limits will include curb-and-gutter.
