Winfield man charged with giving marijuana to minors

WINFIELD ? An investigation for a juvenile refusing to come home resulted in the arrest of Charles Carpenter, 18, Winfield, at 6 p.m. Jan. 14.

According to a press release from the Henry County Sheriff?s Office, Carpenter was charged with distribution of marijuana to persons under age 18, a class B felony, and is being held in the Henry County Jail on $25,000 bond.

During the course of the investigation, Carpenter was located in the 200 block of South Olive Street, directly across from the Winfield-Mt. Union Community School District, according to the press release.

The charge carries a more severe penalty due to the location where it occurred. Carpenter could face a minimum prison sentence of 10 years if convicted.
