The clock program hosted by the Winfield Historical Society on Nov. 16 was a huge success and time well spent! Over 15 antique clocks were on display, and clock expert, Michael Lynch, gave a fascinating presentation. He answered many questions from clock owners and generated interest in new antique clock enthusiasts.
With Christmas just around the corner, the Winfield Historical Society and Museum would like to invite the public to our Christmas Open House on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 1-3 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 16 from 10 a.m.-noon at our present location. After viewing our museum displays, you can enjoy Christmas snacks and wassail.
We also will be holding a quilt raffle for a lap quilt made and donated by the B.L.B. Quilt Club. The quilt will be on display at Winfield City Hall from Dec. 2-7 and at the Winfield Museum from Dec. 9-23.
The cost of tickets will be $5 for 1 ticket, $25 for 6 tickets, or $50 for 15 tickets. The drawing for the quilt will be held on Monday, Dec. 23 at 11 a.m. during the museum’s regular hours. Tickets will be available at the Winfield Museum, Winfield City Hall, and Pilot Grove Savings Bank in Winfield. Tickets may also be purchased from Historical Society board members, Tess Sommer, Susan Beard, Maxine Mabeus, Jan Parcell, Deb Conard, Andy Anderson, Steve Klopfenstein, Barry Evans, and Linda Haight. All proceeds will go towards renovating the interior of the future home of the Winfield Museum at 108 N. Locust Street.
Come join us on Dec. 15 and Dec. 16 for tours, snacks, and fellowship at the Winfield Museum. Don’t forget those raffle tickets for a last-minute Christmas gift! See you soon!
