Winfield opens Hy-Vee Clinic Pharmacy

The new Winfield Hy-Vee Clinic Pharmacy opened its doors to the public on Friday, Nov. 12.

The pharmacy is located at 107 N. Locust St. Winfield, Iowa, 52659.

The 900-square-foot facility will operate as telepharmacy while providing patients with a direct line of communication to a pharmacist.

Patients will have the luxury of communicating will a pharmacist without leaving their community or home.

At the pharmacy, a prescription is processed much like a standard Hy-Vee retail pharmacy. A pharmacist will verify the prescription for accuracy, including the appropriate dosage.

Once the initial verification process is complete, the prescription may be filled.

After the pharmacist completes an additional verification check, the patient can then be counseled via iPad and telephone technology.

Patients can access several services at the clinic.

These services include Automated prescription refill ordering, generic medication discount lists, private medication consultations.

It will also offer over-the-counter health and convenience-style items. Although a full-time pharmacist will not be working there, one will be on-site 16 hours per month.

The Mt. Pleasant Hy-Vee is the home of the Winfield pharmacy.

A ribbon-cutting for the location will take place today, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m.
