WMS plays in April honor bands

WASHINGTON — Washington Middle School Band students were busy in the month of April, attending the Mt. Pleasant Honor Band on April and the SEIBA 2nd Year Honor Band on April 16.
Five 6th grade students attended the SEIBA 2nd Year Honor Band at Liberty high school on April 30. These students were under the direction of retired Iowa City director, Jane Triplett.
The Mt. Pleasant Honor Band on April 9 was attended by 25 WMS sixth graders. The sixth grade band was under the direction of Ross Shumocker, director of the Riverbend Middle School in the Iowa Falls-Alden Community School District.

The seventh and eighth grade band was directed by Nick Carlo, who currently teaches band at Liberty High School and North Central Junior High in North Liberty, Iowa.
