WMU students volunteer

The Winfield-Mt. Union students of Shawna McCabe, Jill Blake, and Susan Eaves have been a very important part of the Winfield Food Pantry this past week.

The past week is known as “Spring Term” and this year, they spent their time volunteering in many ways.

They not only helped the food pantry, but they also cleaned yards, cleaned in Mediapolis after the storm, and assisted at the Winfield Beacon building. What a great bunch of kids!

For this project, they walked all around Winfield leaving a plastic sack with a list of items needed at the Winfield Food Pantry.

A week later, they returned to pick up the bags that were filled with food.

When they had finished, they had the back of Mrs. McCabe’s pickup truck full, a total of 1,104 cans of food! Thank you to this wonderful bunch of kids and their teachers.
