Woman dies in crash near Washington
WASHINGTON — Fairfield woman Ann Gary, age 76, died in a car crash Labor Day afternoon between Washington and Brighton.
An Iowa State Patrol crash report said Gary’s car crossed over the center line, heading south, and collided head-on with a driver from Brighton. Gary was transported to the Washington County Hospital but was “deceased as a result of the collision,” according to the report, which said the crash remained under investigation.
The Iowa State Patrol said its response was assisted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington Police Department, Washington Fire Department and Washington First Responders.
