Woman pleads not guilty to assault on officer

WASHINGTON - Mary Bella Brooks has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from dragging a Washington police officer with her car.
A jury trial is scheduled for June.
The charges stem from an Aug. 2 incident where Brooks attempted to flee a traffic stop with an officer hanging from the vehicle.
The 42-year old from Des Moines has pleaded not guilty to:
' Interference with official acts inflicting bodily injury,
' Interference with official acts by use or displays of dangerous weapon.
' Assault on person in certain occupation and use or displays a dangerous weapon.
' Theft in the second degree.
' Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine in amount over five grams and under five kilograms.
' Failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
' Assault while participating in felony.
' Unlawful possession of a prescription drug.
' Possession of a controlled substance.
The pretrial conference is scheduled for May 21, and the jury trial is scheduled for June 22.
Brooks is currently in custody of the Washington County Jail with a $50,000 cash bond.
