Woman remains unidentified after body found near vehicle on fire
Des Moines County police have yet to release the name of a woman who was found dead laying next to a vehicle fully engulfed in flames on Tuesday, April 17.

Des Moines County police have yet to release the name of a woman who was found dead laying next to a vehicle fully engulfed in flames on Tuesday, April 17.
According to a news release from the Des Moines Sheriff?s Office, deputies and the Mediapolis Fire Department were dispatched to 9516 Stony Hollow Rd, in rural West Burlington, for a car on fire in a field with a female subject presumed deceased laying next to the vehicle.
Deputies arrived to find a car on fire and a female subject outside of the vehicle deceased. A male subject who was on scene has been identified as Bradley Dean Wischmeier, of 9516 Stony Hollow Rd. Wischmeier admitted to driving the vehicle in the field when it became stuck and caught fire.
An autopsy was to be performed at the University of Iowa Hospital on Wednesday, April 18.
The deceased female?s identity has been withheld until notification of next of kin.
The Des Moines County Sheriff?s Office was assisted by Mediapolis Fire Department, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa State Fire Marshall?s Office.
