Work is heating up on Baker Street construction

Work is in full swing on Baker Street from Lincoln Street to Becky Lane.

Hickey Construction, according to Warner Engineering Associates, the engineering firm for the project, will be finishing new sidewalk construction by April 17, weather permitting.

Patching from Lincoln Street to Becky Lane is on the docket following the sidewalk construction. The north side of the Lincoln and Baker streets intersection will be poured as soon as sewer repair is finished on Lincoln Street.

The removal of Baker Street from the east end to Palm Avenue will not begin until at least May 1. The schedule is contingent upon Mt. Pleasant Municipal Utilities finishing its work between Becky Lane and Palm Avenue because there is not enough room for the contractor and utilities to work in the same area.

All construction dates are contingent upon the weather.
