Work on Iris Street nearly completed

Iris Street?s reconstruction is nearing an end.

Favorable weather last week allowed the mainline on the street from the north side of Monroe Street south to near the existing concrete to be poured

Plans for this week are to pave the remainder of the project this week, weather permitting.

Shipley Contracting is scheduled to pour the south end of the Iris/Monroe streets intersection today and tomorrow and then work on pouring the south railroad header.

The firm also will be finishing up the trail connections with the railroad right-of-way this week.

Cole Construction is grading out driveway approaches early this week and Jones Contracting will start forming and pouring driveways on Iris Street.

The final portion of the trail will be poured after all businesses have access to Iris Street.
