Worker health project proposals sought

The Healthier Workforce Center for Excellence is accepting proposals from students, faculty and community-based organizations for pilot project grants.
Faculty and students are invited to submit applications for new and creative research that focuses on integrated approaches to worker health. Projects must integrate health protection and health promotion.
Funding of up to $5,000 is available for student projects and up to $30,000 for new faculty investigator projects.

Community-based organizations are invited to submit applications that aim to develop approaches, methods and documentation for implementing or evaluating a Total Worker Health Program among small employers.
Funding of up to $10,000 is available and applicants can submit a letter of intent prior to the proposal deadline.

Application deadline is March 17 for all pilot project categories. Letters of intent, proposals and administrative questions should be sent to the center coordinator, Kevin Kelly, at kevin-kelly@uiowa.edu.

The HWCE serves as a state and national resource center for integrated health, wellness and safety programs, practices and policies. Through ergonomic research, translation of research into best practices, and outreach activities; the HWCE helps improve the health and safety of employed populations.
