WASHINGTON — International award-winning Pianist Charlie Albright is the next act of the Washington Performing Arts Series, scheduled to play at the high school’s Performing Arts and Events Center 7 p.m. Nov. 29.
Organizers said they were excited about the pull.
“Albright provides a delightful evening of entertainment, mixing classical music with a bit of pops and keyboard improvisation, all tied together with his relaxed and friendly stage presence,” said a statement from WAPAEC. “A popular feature of his performance is his improvisational creation of a musical composition, live on stage, prompted by 3-4 musical notes suggested by audience members. It must be seen to be believed!”
The event will be free for all students K-12. Organizers said it would “provide local budding artists an opportunity to experience truly outstanding performances and to further encourage their involvement in and dedication to the arts.”
