Aaron J. Goff, 34, of Riverside, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, in Columbus Junction.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the Riverside Public Cemetery with full military honors. Following the services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Riverside V.F.W. Post 6414. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Goff was born Jan. 11, 1983, in Iowa City, the son of Steven and Lora (Irving) Goff. He attended WACO High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Ranger in the 1st Ranger Battalion. He attained the rank of sergeant and was the team leader of the 75th Ranger?s Regiment. On Sept. 18, 2010, he married Kelsey Spears in Riverside.
He worked at Tysons for nine years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and was an avid Hawkeye football and wrestling fan. Most of all, he dearly loved to spend time with his family, especially his two girls.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Payton and Makenzie Goff; his mother, Lora Irving of North Liberty; his father, Steven Goff, of Custer, Kentucky; maternal grandmother, V. Joyce Irving of Columbus Junction; brothers, Edward Goff of Fairfield and Steven Goff Jr. of Indiana; his mother-in-law, Laura Gadola and husband Tony; brother-in-law Garrett Gadola; and several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, Edward Erving; one sister, Lori Gossett; and a brother-in-law, Kemper Spears.
