Ada Beth Kleese, age 96, of Washington, Iowa, died Thursday, January 31, 2019 at The United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the United Presbyterian Church with Chaplain Andrew Zuehlke officiating. Calling hours will begin noon Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Home or Hospice of Washington County. Ada was born December 31, 1922 near Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of James Burton and Emma (Eckhardt) Denison and the youngest of six children. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1940 and was united in marriage to David Elwood Kleese on February 21, 1945. She was a long-time member of the United Presbyterian Church and was ordained as a Deacon of the church in 1981.

Ada is survived by four daughters: Susan (Kenneth) Hough of Urbandale, IA; Judith (David) Leavitt of Coralville, IA; Jane (Kenneth) Krumwiede of Davenport, IA; and Marsha (James) Campbell of Wellsville, UT; daughter-in-law, Cathy Kleese of Washington, IA; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in law, Wilma Wright of Keota, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

Ada was preceded in death by her husband, David Elwood Kleese; son, John Walter Kleese; three sisters and two brothers.
