Ada M. Love
Ada M. Love, 94, of Keosauqua, died today, Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at Van Buren County Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating. Burial will be at Price Cemetery, north of New Boston, Mo.
Open visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Fund. Online condolences may be left at www.behnerfh.com.
Mrs. Love was born Oct. 11, 1911, in New Boston, the daughter of Charles and Ada Prough Bishop. She married Carl E. Love April 12, 1934, in Kirksville, Mo. He died in 1975.
Mrs. Love was born and raised on a family farm near New Boston. She attended Grandview High School. Mrs. Love and her husband moved to the Birmingham community in 1968 where they raised their children. She was a homemaker and worked in the Jefferson County Hospital housekeeping and laundry departments for 13 years.
Mrs. Love was a member of Suburban Heights Baptist Church in Fairfield.
She enjoyed fishing, embroidery, quilting and shopping.
Survivors include her five children and their families, Laverne Love of Washington, Carl Love of Keosauqua, Carolyn Beggs of Mount Sterling, Marilyn Kerr of Douds and Vicki Allman of Fairfield; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Elizabeth Pfieffer of Newton, Genevieve Wood of Newton, Lucille Stewart of Albuquerque, N.M., and Gertrude Novinger of Chillicothe, Mo.; and two brothers, Henry Bishop of Florida and Ivan Bishop of Linwood Springs, Colo.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, LaVone, John and Jerry Love; three brothers, Arthur, Charles and Albert Bishop; and sister, Helen Carter.
