Ada Ruth Wyse, 93, of Wayland died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2000, at the Parkview Home in Wayland.

The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church southeast of Wayland. Burial was in the Sugar Creek Mennonite Cemetery. Memorials in her name can be established to the Parkview Home.

Mrs. Wyse was born July 24, 1906, in Wayland, the daughter of Menno and Mary Oswald Freyenberger. She married Ivan Wyse on Oct. 11, 1928, in Wayland. She was a very faithful member of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. She was a homemaker, telephone operator, and a clerk in the Wyse Sundries Store in Wayland, which she and her husband owned. They enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include two daughters, Miriam Gowey of Wayland and Verena Jacobs of Solon; two sisters, Alta Cunningham of Salida, Colo. and Lulu Roth of Wayland; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Ezra and Edwin; and a great-grandchild.
