Agnes D. Parcell

Agnes Marine Dunn Parcell, 94, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in Fairfield, IA at Living Care Center in Jefferson County Hospital.

Open visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

The family requests memorials be made in lieu of flowers to the Jefferson County Dialysis Center.

Agnes Marine Parcell was born January 5, 1914 to William and May Smith Dunn in New London. She was united in marriage with Leonard Parcell Dec. 24, 1934. Leonard passed away Nov. 28, 1994.

Agnes and Leonard owned and operated Parcell Grocery Store on Kirkwood Street in Fairfield for over 30 years, then sold the store in 1979. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of VFW Ladies Auxilary.

Agnes is survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Dunn of Mt. Pleasant, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard, sisters Gladys Taylor and Ethel Brandt, and brother J.W. Dunn.
