Agnes J. Russell

      Agnes J. Russell, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center of Farmington, Mo.

      The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Weir Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Jeffrey Crawford of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Visitation with the family present will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery of Mt. Pleasant.

      Mrs. Russell was born Sept. 22, 1911, in Henry County, the daughter of Ray J. and Lydia L. Archibald Ford. She married R.D. Fetterman who preceded her in death. On Oct. 29, 1947, at Kahoka, Mo., she married Edward H. Sayles who died March 22, 1961. On Oct. 10, 1963, at Oquawka, Ill., she married Wallace P. Russell who died Jan. 22, 1996. She was a psychiatric aide at the MHI in Mt. Pleasant for many years.

      Survivors include a daughter, Mona and Howard Hammack of Bismarck, Mo.; a sister, Bernice Marcelline Calhoun of Mt. Pleasant; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Ford; two sisters, Florence Willis and Mildred McClintock; and a great-grandson.
