Alan James Parsons, age 64, of Winfield, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Interment will be held at Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established for his granddaughters. Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Winfield is caring for the family. Alan was born July 16, 1958 in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of James “Jim” and Joyce (Krewson) Parsons. He graduated from Van Buren Community Schools in 1976. Alan welcomed his daughter, Jamie, into the world with Deena Boline.

Alan worked as a welder for Ceco, a general laborer for Loudens and most recently an associate with Continental. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs fan and he enjoyed NASCAR racing and pool league. His greatest joy came from spending time with his granddaughters.

He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jamie (Howard) Snook of Winfield; grandchildren, Ashlyn Jo Snook and Janalyn Hope Snook; sister, Susan (Jerry) Johnson of Cedar Rapids; and nephews and niece, Chris Griffin of Cedar Rapids, Travis (Bridgett) Griffin of Des Moines, and Robyn (Dustin) Roll of Fairfield and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
