Albert A. Mathews February 11, 1911 - March 25, 2004

Albert Adolpheous Mathews, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 9:27 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 at Elliott Chapel in New London, with the Rev. Matt Miller officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Burge Cemetery in New London at a later date. Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. today at the chapel with no family visitation. A memorial has been established to the Mt. Pleasant Public Library or to the donor's choice.

Survivors include a brother, Elmer Mathews of Mt. Pleasant; and a sister, Velma Williams.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Herman Dwight Mathews; and two sisters, Annabell Mathews Messer Nichols and Nellie May Mathews Starkey.
