Alberta Nelson March 27, 1920 - September 19, 2005

      Alberta Nelson, 85, of New London Nursing and Rehab Center, died at 3:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona, Ill., with Pastor Greg Swenson officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Wenona. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at the church. Memorials have been established to New London Nursing and Rehab Center and First Methodist Church in New London and may be sent to Janet Underwood c/o Lunning Chapel, 2620 Mt. Pleasant St., Burlington, IA 52601.

      Survivors include a daughter, Janet Underwood of Danville; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded n death by her parents, a son and a granddaughter.
