Alberta Ruth Webber

      Alberta Ruth Webber, 70, of rural Stockport, died at 1:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at home.

      A Celebration of Life service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Stockport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike Renken officiating. Cremation has been accorded.

      A gathering of family and friends will follow Friday's service in the church fellowship hall.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa in Mount Pleasant or to University of Iowa Hospital Chemo Suites in Iowa City.

      Arrangements are in the care of Raymond Funeral Home of Fairfield and Birmingham.

      Mrs. Webber was born Nov. 8, 1937, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Roscoe Harry and Marjorie Hawkins Simmons. She married Ed Burkhalter, and they later divorced. She married Keith Webber in 1973.
