Alberta Yvonne Liljedahl, 91, of Fairfield, passed away June 1, 2022, at her home.

Graveside memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Evergreen Cemetery. with Pastor Heidi Williams officiating.

Memorials may be made First Lutheran Church and mailed to Ann Godwin, 2258 Salina Road, Fairfield, IA 52556.

Alberta was born February 17, 1931, in Ottumwa, to Ilo Clayton and Opal (Best) Hill. She married Harold Robert Liljedahl on January 2, 1949. Alberta was married to the love of her life for 70 years until his death on May 17, 2019.

Alberta was so excited when she became a mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother making 5 generations. In September she would welcome another great grandson. Alberta loved spending time with her family. She was a determined, sassy, but had the biggest heart.

Alberta and Harold loved to dance. They wintered in Texas for 17 years and then in the summers at International Fall, Minnesota.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church.

She will be missed by her daughter, Ann (Don) Godwin; daughter-in- law, Susan Liljedahl; 5 grandchildren, Paula Babcock, Carl Babcock, Timothy Babcock, Mary (Brooks) Woolson and Phillip McAtee; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren;

Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, Ilo and Opal; husband, Harold; son, John “Keith” Liljedahl; brother, Robert Hill; and sister, Marie Box.
