Alice Amanda

Alice Amanda (Gingerich) Beachy, daughter of Benedict and Lizzie (Kemp) Gingerich was born March 25, 1919, in Johnson County, Iowa, and died at her home August 23, 2018, at the age of 99 years, 4 months and 28 days. On January 31, 1941, she was united in marriage to Eli M. Beachy. They lived in matrimony for 56 years. Surviving are 4 children: Elizabeth Ellen Schrock of Kalona, Mrs John H.( Emma Irene) Beachy of Riverside, Mrs Steven D. (Alta Fern) Miller of Kalona, Mrs Jim (Ida Mae) Bige of Waterloo; 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, 40 step great grandchildren and 69 step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Freeman, Herman and Emil, a sister: Mary Ellen, a granddaughter, and an infant great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held 9:30 AM Sunday, August 26, 2018, at the John H. Beachy residence at 2524 Hwy 22 in rural Riverside. Visitation will begin at 1:30 PM on Friday and will continue all day on Saturday at the John H. Beachy residence. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is charge of the arrangements.
