Alice Elsie Barker, 75, of Fairfield, passed away July 3, 2021, at Parkview Care Center. Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Behner Funeral Home with Pastor John Wilbur officiating. Visitation for family & friends will start at 10 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will follow the service at Maple Hill Cemetery, Birmingham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maple Hill Cemetery or donor's choice. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Marie Carter, 3257 Ash Ave., Hillsboro, IA 52630.

Alice was born Jan. 21, 1946, to Fred A. and Elsie M. (Ferguson) Barker at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, Iowa. She graduated from Washington High School in 1966.

Alice was a loving and caring person. She lived with her parents, sister and brothers, until her last brother John passed away on Oct. 21, 2020. Alice helped with caring for her parents and siblings. She worked with them at various jobs like Welkona Turkey Farm in Wellman and Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield.

Alice loved people, shopping, going places, eating out, puzzles, games, coloring, watching TV, her do, Star and birds. Most of all family gatherings.

Alice is survived by her sister, Marie (Gale) Carter of Hillsboro, Iowa; nephew, Randy (Libby Head) Carter of Eugene Ore.; niece, Cindy (Giovanni Valdano) of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; and brother-in-law, Douglas Oldfield of Wellman.

Alice was preceded by her parents, Fred and Elsie; three sisters, , Martha, Mary Beth (at birth) and Nancy; and three brothers, Jackie (infant), Jimmy and John.
