Alice J. Burton died peacefully in Cedar Park, Texas, on Jan. 8, 2022, at age 83.

Burton grew up in southeastern Iowa the daughter of John and Eleanor (Parsons) Fickel. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta while attending the University of Iowa. She graduated in 1959 after which she spent the majority of her life in Lafayette, Ind., working as a homemaker and for several years as an elementary education teacher.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Bruce. She was blessed with two children, both graduates of Lafayette Jefferson High School. Craig is married to Nancy with daughters, Amanda and Ashley, all living in Texas. Beth is married to Alan Baker, with children Nick and Kirsten. Nick and his wife, Kelia, are parents of Oliver, Burton's great-grandson. The Bakers reside in Ohio.

Burton was preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Ralph.

Her sister, Darlene, resides in Scottsdale, Ariz.
